N Scale Ballast Spreader+

Never to let a good idea get left undone. I adjusted Scubaseb's Schotterfrmer for Atlas N Scale track. Then added PeterH1500's sliding gate to serve as a shutoff and placed it under avanhanegem's bottle cap. Assembled, you can fill a soda bottle with your ballast, place it on the track and open the gate. As you move along the track it will spread the ballast where you want to the edge of the cork roadbed. When you've gone as far as you need, slide the gate close and finish the last couple inches. Now you can pick it up without dropping ballast everywhere! I've adjusted the holes to accommodate 2mm screws because that was the smallest that my hobby shop had. You might have to chase the screw holes with a drill for ease of insertion.
