Entry for the NASA Challenge. Rover for taking samples on the moon. Low power consumption, low weight. Conveyor brings dust, rocks and sand through a filtering system. This will filter out sand through a mesh. Bigger ricks will be transported to the end of the mesh tube. Rocks bigger than 20mm and smaller than 10mm will be sorted out and disposed. Rocks between 10-20mm will land in the sample container. The sample conveyor and filter system will have possibility to be positioned horizontally so that only sand or rocks (size 20-30mm) will go into container separately. This can be configured to be sampled in layers as defined. A strain gage will determine the weight added. Signal for this to be controlled and stored by control unit. Sample container is open and camera will be able to check collected samples when needed. The rover is belt driven to be able to drive in rough terrain. These are controlled by 2 motors. Conveyor can be dug into ground. There are 2 actuators on it. One to position the tilt of the conveyor and one to position the filtering system and conveyor to direct the type of sample needed. Total weight of system: Approx. 450 grams Power consumption: 20 Watt
