Brief Description A pair of non-circular gears with 1:1 perimeter ratio has been already introduced in this series. When two non-circular gears have rotational symmetry—4-fold and 3-fold in this case—they can mesh with each other at a circumference ratio of 4:3 rather than 1:1, resulting in a 4:3 rotation ratio. In this model, the reference curve of the square gear is defined by filleting the corners of a square with side length 4a with circular arcs of radius a.
