UPDATE 2021-07-25: I reverted it to "work in progress" because I am not happy with the bowden tube drive system (forcing me to use pressure advance with large factor, limiting print speed) and some other small things.
I tried different versions for driving the filament: bowden, remote direct extrusion and currently, I am trying a 22:1 geared direct drive system (with a tiny NEMA8). The design will remain "work in progress" until I am happy with it.-
Other things that are being re-thought and redesigned where necessary:
- purge buckets (they need to be deeper)
- silicone nozzle-wipers (too complex, too flimsy)
- X/Y motor mounts (introduce too much vibration/flex)
- bowden/cable/filament guide (put too much force on the print head)
- locking mechanism (it's reliable, but too slow)
- endstops (not happy with the X-endstop)
- Z probe (not happy with the BLtouch, rattling and sometimes the pin gets stuck)
- part cooling fan duct (not enough throughput, uneven air pressure)
