Northbrook Hall, also known as Lalkuthi, is a historic building located in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. Built in 1879 during the British colonial period, it was named after Lord Northbrook, the then Viceroy of India. The hall was originally established as a public library and town hall for the local elite.Architecturally, Northbrook Hall is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic style, combining Mughal, Venetian, and European elements. Its distinctive red façade and ornate arches make it one of Dhaka’s most iconic colonial-era structures. Today, it stands as a heritage site, symbolizing Dhaka’s rich cultural and historical legacy.
