WARNING: You must print this model as shown orientation with 0.16mm layer height, otherwise the ball bearing will be fused to the model rendering it useless.
You will get a warning for floating regions, ignore that.
This is a DIY model of a SmallRig-style super clamp. The main drawback of this DIY version is that it requires twice as many rotations to open and close the same distance as the original. This is because it uses a standard threaded bolt, whereas the original SmallRig clamp features dual opposing threads for quicker adjustment.
Required hardware:
- 1x 80mm M5 bolt
- 2x M5 nut
- 1x 20mm M4 bolt
- 1x M4 nut
- Lubricant (optional)
Please note:
- In order to achieve smooth rotation you must add a little lubricant to the ball bearing.
- At first both bearings will be slightly stuck like a standard support is, insert the bolt and apply force to loosen them
- The screw must be tightened to the ball bearing after adding the nut, if it's not tight it won't spin the bearing
