A Father and Son's (9yo) first attempt at 3D modeling made for the physics education contest. This was modeled after a Engineering box my son received. We call it the ‘ Nut’n Roll'. We hope you enjoy and happy printing! This project is around kinetic energy. To assemble, you need to connect the 4 posts into the slots within the circle ends to complete. You will also need a heavy nut as well as a strong medium sized rubber band. Tie a knot with the middle section of the rubber band around the nut and loop end of the rubber band within the middle section of the circle ends. There is a ‘C’ shaped slot for the rubber band to loop over. When the completed object is rolled in one direction, the weight of the nut as well as the tightly twisted rubber band, stores the kinetic energy. Once the band has reached its storage limit, the stored energy will release backwards in the opposite direction from which it was rolled.
