Designed to:
Have large internal space (because, PAYLOAD) and large wing area with minimal material;
To float when flying slow but be capable of flying far and fast;
To avoid stall at high AoA and have excellent maneuverability; while keeping it simple, easy to build and assemble.
Design, modeling, CFD: ~24 hours
Fab, assembly, avionics: Less than 48 hours on first attempt
Initial test flights: ~6 hours.
Flew great on first iteration, first launch. Almost 500km of flight testing
Wing area: .29sqm
Wingspan: 690mm
Length: 605mm
Wing loading: 8-10kg/m2
MTOW: 2.9kg
Features:
Dedicated ESC Bay with NACA ducts for sustained high speed flights.
Slotted Elevons to minimize control surfaces stalling at high alpha maneuvers.
Recommended Motor and Prop: 28xx; 6" to 7" props.
We tested on 7x5.5 and 6x4 props on 2808 1500KV motors; 6S4P 18650 and 6S2P 21700 batteries.
