This 3D-printed “On Air” light box brings a touch of vintage broadcast studio flair to your workspace, home studio, or streaming setup. The design is a rectangular enclosure featuring the iconic “On Air” sign, backlit by a warm LED light. For the illumination, I used a standard E14 socket LED bulb. These are commonly available as pre-wired screw-top fixtures with a built-in cable and switch – you can find them in most hardware stores ready to use. To enhance the lighting effect, the interior of the box is lined with reflective silver tape. This helps diffuse the light outward and gives it a slightly uneven, retro glow reminiscent of an old filament bulb. The light dispersion isn’t perfectly uniform, which adds to the nostalgic aesthetic. Perfect for makers who enjoy combining 3D printing with real-world hardware and electronics!
