This is a design to hold larger scissors in place so that people can cut with one hand. Many one-handed scissors are smaller and they do not cut fabric well. This was designed for a person that has the use of one arm/hand that is learning to sew.
Warning: The blades on these scissors are sharp and because they are larger than other adaptive scissors; there is a greater potential risk of cuts to fingers. Please be very aware of this fact as these scissors are used. I've cut myself just assembling these for people.
This design uses Fiskars Fabric Scissors that are spring loaded, which is critical for the one-handed operation. See uploaded photo from Fiskars website.
Supplies:
Filament, your choice...
Fiskars Easy Action Fabric Scissors, No. 8
Two 1/4-20 x 1 1/4" Flat Head Machine Screws
Two 1/4-20 Nuts
Optional:
Dycem (Thin silicone sheet) can be attached to the bottom to stop it from sliding.
Thread the nut on the end of the machine screw and use the screw to push the n
