Whenever I was heating up my hotend there was a lot of ABS-ooze coming out dripping somewhere into the printer or onto the bed.
Use this small device to put your hotend on while heating up and minimize oozing.
The blue part in the pictures is a roll of silicone, I got it from an silicone baking form, cut out a stripe and rolled it together.
I changed my CustomStartup Gcode to
G28 ; Home all Axes
M190 S[first_layer_bed_temperature]
G1 X175 Y196 Z10.5 F5000 ; Go onto Silicone Buffer
M109 S[first_layer_temperature] ; Wait until hotend heated
G1 X175 Y195 Z20 F5000 ; Go up
G1 X155 Y155 Z20 F5000 ; Go to heatbed and print
