I saw an instructable on making custom 'neon' signs, using a bit of electronics and 3D printing.
I have made some others, but this is just the letters O P E N for an open sign.
I used the 5 V LED 'neon', so I can power it with one of the many USB chargers I have lying around. https://geni.us/NeonLEDStrip5v
