Building yourself an OpenBot is cool. Building tank treads for it is cooler.
But turning your OpenBot into a post-apocalyptic death machine? That's the coolest.
So while I was working on the tank treads - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4670884 - it became obvious that I was going to have to take this further. The treads give this thing a positively aggressive stance and reminded me of the Bullet Farmer's tracked car from the Fury Road movie.
Things kinda spiraled out of control from there. Quickly.
I decided early on that I wanted to be able to easily switch back and forth between vanilla OpenBot and OpenBot: Beyond Thunderdome. So like the tank treads I designed, everything can be easily installed/removed without tools, glue, etc.
Let's start with a quick overview: there's 5 major parts we're looking at (not counting the tank treads).
1. What I'm calling a "hood ornament" is actually the shifter knob repurposed and set on a mount for the top of the phone mount.
