This is a parameterized OpenSCAD model to generate a custom fitted face mask using three key facial measurements. The design itself is roughly based on common 3D printed face masks such as the Montana Mask, but has been designed from the ground up using OpenSCAD to allow for easy customization without any 3D scanning/modelling required.
The three key facial measurements are: cheek width as measured at the lips, height from top of nose to lips, and height from lips to bottom of chin. This is inline with findings from a study of key facial parameters for mask fitment from George Washington University.
Along with the 3D printed parts, use of the mask will require a filtration material (the performance of the mask will largely be dependent on this), elastics for the straps, and weather stripping for the seal.
Although it is possible to print the mask shell using PLA or other stiff materials, our prototypes are all printed in higher hardness TPU to more easily conform to the fac
