Optical Table Top

An optical table plays a crucial role in optics experiments due to its stability, precision, and vibration-damping properties. Granite, with its low thermal expansion and high rigidity, provides a stable platform that minimizes any unwanted vibrations or movements during experiments. This stability is essential for precise optical measurements and alignments. This granite table top was designed in six pieces to be easily fabricated and mounted in a metallic structure in a room on the 7th floor.
