An adapter to allow the factory CPU blower fan to be replaced with a standard 80mm fan on a Dell Optiplex 9010. I believe the heatsink is a Dell J50GH heatsink.

I'm converting this old computer for other purposes and would like to make it near silent; and will be installing Noctua fans with this adapter (not photographed).

Using M3 x 8mm allen head bolts (but you should be able to reuse existing bolts). Make sure your bolts/screws aren't too long because you can go in too deep and pierce the heatsink. Attaching the fan to the adapter requires two to four typical fan mounting screws.

There's barely any room between the side care door (when put back on) and the top of the fan, so you may want to drill some holes for more ventilation. I have not tested this setup yet nor compared temperatures. Please try at your own risk.
