We've all had to do some sanding when it comes to 3D Printing. So I took one previous project and turned it into this: a mini power sander.
• I used an Oral-B battery powered toothbrush (these usually come with at least one brush head and only cost around 12$).
• I trimmed the bristles off the brush head with a utility knife.
• Used superglue to fasten the brush head to the adapter piece.
• I used 3/4 inch hook and loop sticky dots (the hook part) and stuck it to the the adapter.
• I use Dura Gold Jitterbug Hook and Loop Sandpaper, cut to down to 1 inch squares. The back of this sandpaper is the loop, so it grabs on to the adapter with no problem.
• Reattach to the Oral-B base and you're good to go.
Because of the hook and loop connection you can easily replace the sandpaper when you need to change to a different grit size. It's not the most powerful sanding device but it works and comes in handy.
I've also made a little container for holding the sandpaper pieces.
