First version with horizontal arm I designed this carplay mount with a simple “lever” system using the own carplay weight to hold it in place. I've been testing it for the past months driving over speed bumps etc and its holding very well. The arm length is 10cm which is enough for the carplay to rotate and not too long to put too much pressure on the base. All you need is some double-sided tape for the base and to screw the small locking system to the back of your carplay. You need to take into account that If you have a camera on the back, it'll need to be angled a little bit up as you can see on the pictures. Second Vertical version with 3 positions You can rotate the arm 360° and lock it in place after tightening the ring.
