The Ormerod 2 Y axis has a tendency to twist making the bed difficult to level. I made the base more rigid.
Update: Now added adjustable end plate version 2 which is slightly shorter and doesn't bind on the extrusion.
A small brass shim has also been added beneath the idler screw as over time the screw sinks into the plastic and can make the belt run out of true.
Materials
Aluminium angle 200 x 40 x1.5 2 lengths at 210
BR extrusion 20 x 40 x 350 with 6mm slot
M4 T nuts and bolts
M3 nuts & bolts
The stock Y-axis end plates have been modified to remove the foot and extend them slightly.
After printing bolt them together and run a 12mm reamer through the rod holes to make sure they are parallel.
If possible hold the reamer in the drill press and rotate it manually so it is at right angles to the end plate and doesn't melt the plastic.
The idler plate is based on MasonStonehenge's Y Idler Tensioner http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:529595
The motor mount is bas
