A Simple book stand I made as a present by using a recycled OSB piece which is 420x297x20mm.
It does work with thiner recycled boards but I left enough gap so as to fit a thick one, or you can place the book directly on it if it's not too big. Once the board is put on it it becomes very solid and it doesn't overturn easily.
