Outdoor gate sensors are hard to come by and expensive for the SmartThings ecosystem. A lot of people in the community attempt to waterproof the excellent ST Multipurpose sensor to meet their needs. This enclosure is made to be printed in a way to fully encapsulate the sensor portion of the device to make it weather resistant. To test it I submerged it in water for 8 hours to see if it would leak and it held up great. Here are the printing instructions.
1. Load the STL into your slicer (I used Cura)
2. Force the print to pause at layer 113. (In Cura Go to extensions, post processing, modify G-code, choose "Pause at height", change pause at to "Layer No." and "Pause Layer" to 113)
3. When the print pauses slide the electronic (Fatter) portion of the sensor into the print with the flat side facing up. (the sensor itself will act as the support for the cap)
4. Resume Print
5. When complete inspect the print for proper layer adhesion and make sure you don't have any cracks tha
