I created a workshop for children so they can have fun playing with tools while also learning about how the tools are used. This oversized nut and bolt assembly is larger so it doesn't become a choking hazard for small children. The size of the nut and bolt head also fit with the set of wrenches I made of 1/2 inch oak and cut on my scroll saw.
Dimensions:
The bolt sits at 2-1/2 inches tall. The inner diameter is 0.86 inches while the outer diameter is 1-1/8 inches. The head of the bolt is a hexagon with an inscribed circle with a diameter of 1-3/8 inches. The nut sits at 3/4 inches tall. The size of the nut matches the bolt head and has 1 mm of clearance between the threads.
I set the infill to 10% because children will not be tightening the pieces too hard, and I wanted to save time and filament. The pieces have enough clearance between them to allow for small children to easily turn the parts.
