Description

This 3D model represents a fossil egg of the Elongatoolithus type, laid by a theropod dinosaur of the Oviraptorosauria clade. These eggs are characterized by their elongated shape and distinctive surface ornamentation (fine to more pronounced longitudinal ridges depending on the species).

The original specimen comes from the Late Cretaceous of China, in the Nanxiong Group (continental red beds). The ornamentation and proportions match a typical morphotype of oviraptorid eggs.
