This is done by design to ensure the clips strength last a long time.  As always use at your own risk! 2 Models available, “SINGLE Clip” design and the “DUAL Clip” version. I also added locking versions of both models. This will prevent the slider from coming all the way out.  ( Some force is required to insert the locking slider version) . Push down the lever and push in slowly till it clears the front lip!)
