*** Update ***I added an open-ended parametric model. I am using this on the lead-end of the battery on my mobula8 so that I can put a cap on each end as I have been destroying batteries by scraping them on the ground. First the plastic, then the foil… This definitely works! There is an additional variable in the parametric table for lip size so that it doesn't slip down the battery. I printed with a tighter gap of .25 and .3 as well as changed the wall thickness to .8mm and a small number of holes since it is so thin. See pics below. The pics are at 2MM for that setting. I created this parametric model to help protect lipo batteries in the event they are dropped, scraped, crashed, etc. Note that the holes are parametrically-generated based on the size of the protector, the hole size, the hole spacing, and the width of the corner and side edging. The formulas try to center the number of holes and you can break the model so examine the results before you print. I suggest the below s
