Parametric Plant Grid (OpenSCAD)

🪴 Parametric Plant Grid (OpenSCAD) I created this OpenSCAD script to solve a very real problem in my own home. I love plants—and our two sweet ragdoll cats. Unfortunately, they also love plants… especially digging in the soil. For a long time, we used aluminum foil on top of the soil to keep them away. It works—but it’s not exactly pretty, it gets dirty, and it traps moisture, making the soil feel damp and unpleasant. So I started thinking about a better solution. That’s when the idea hit me: why not design a custom-fit grid that sits on top of the soil? Instead of modeling each one manually, I made this parametric OpenSCAD script where everything can be adjusted to fit your exact pot and plant. ⚙️ How it works When you open the file, you’ll see quite a few parameters—but don’t worry, you don’t need all of them. 🔹 Core parameters Shape type Choose between circle, square, or rectangle.
