I've suffered from quite some cable failures of the thermocouples on my CTC, only use one extruder anyway as calibrating multi extrusion is just too much hassle for the benefit and I regularly switch nozzles. So why not just swap the printhead and have an easy and fast replacement on hand if something goes wrong?
I've created a parametric case that will encapsulate the extruder and routes all connections through ethernet cables that are dirt cheap, easy and fast to replace.

This is just a preview however, I would currently not recommend you to use this design until some flaws are removed and the ethernet connectivity is easier to handle with a real PCB and not a knot of wires hanging around on the backside of the printhead. Currently the etherne
