I often work with a couple of dogs who love curling up right beside my chair. Unfortunately, every time I shift or roll the chair, a caster wheel can catch their fur, which I hate seeing happen. To solve this, I designed these 3D‑printed caster protectors that fit around the wheels, preventing them from rolling over fur. If the protector lightly taps them, the dogs naturally reposition before their fur gets pulled. Using them is simple: place the protector on the floor, then set the chair’s caster wheel inside. As you move, the protector slides across the floor. These are sized for 2‑7/8‑inch roller‑skate‑style chair wheels. Adding adhesive felt pads underneath helps them glide quietly and reduces noise during movement. The print design features variable infill density, providing extra weight toward the base. This lowers the center of gravity, making them more stable and less likely to tip while the chair is in use.
