Inspired by the ant PCB milling machine. This is a much bigger version I have been developing. The goal was bigger working area, fewer printed parts and easier to source parts. Still waiting on parts to arrive before I can test fully and see if this design works scaled up. All of the 3d printed parts were designed from scratch except for the Z head which was modified to support a 28mm motor and lm8uu bearings. Snindle speed is just under 12K rpm.

All parts original except the Motor_and_Spindle_Pulleys_No_Collet_.stl and head.stl which are a modification of the original STLs provided by the Ant PCB team. ( https://bitbucket.org/compactpcbmaker/cpcbm/src/master/ )

Frequently Asked Questions
Which 3D printer is suitable for PCBEater?
Any FDM printer should handle PCBEater just fine. It's been printed on machines like Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Prusa Mini+, Creality Ender 3, most FDM printers. A minimum build volume of 50 mm is recommended.
How long does it take to print PCBEater?
According to the design notes, PCBEater takes approximately 15 hours to print at standard settings (0.2 mm layer height, 15% infill). Actual print time varies based on your printer speed, layer height, and infill density.
What file format is PCBEater available in?
PCBEater is available in STL format. These files can be opened and sliced using free software such as Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or OrcaSlicer for FDM printing, or ChiTuBox and Lychee Slicer for resin printing. The download is provided through Thingiverse.
Is PCBEater free to download?
Yes, PCBEater is available as a free download through Thingiverse. Always check the license on the original platform to understand commercial use, remixing, and attribution requirements.
