Pegaso’s StoryPegaso was a Spanish manufacturer of trucks, buses, tractors, and sports cars, founded in 1946 by the state-owned company ENASA, based at the old Hispano-Suiza factory near Madrid. It quickly stood out with a wide product range including trucks, buses, armored vehicles, and high-performance sports cars (for example, the Z-102).By 1974, annual production had reached 26,000 vehicles, marking its peak; between 1946 and 1990, around 350,000 vehicles were produced in total.Sale to Iveco1989: Among the potential buyers of Pegaso were Fiat-IVECO and MAN-Daimler-Benz. However, the European competition authority blocked the MAN-Daimler-Benz offer.A second international tender followed the same year.September 23, 1990: IVECO acquired 60% of ENASA’s shares. Production of Iveco models soon began in Spanish factories.Pegaso continued as a secondary brand until 1994 (the last Pegaso Troner truck was produced on July 12, 1994).The last Pegaso engine was manufactured in 1995.LegacyIVECO i
