I had used the venerable TUSH to hold my spools for some time, but unfortunately it started to come apart. I also had an empty section of pegboard of my workbench. There are some options here for mounting a spool of filament on a pegboard, but I didn't find one that meets my needs. In particular, I wanted one that uses a metal part to mount onto the pegboard.
This spool holder has some advantages:
- Made of inexpensive parts
- Fast to print
- Fairly sturdy
- Low friction on filament spools
I modeled this part to work with a hook I found at the hardware store, the Crawford #18580. You can find it on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MKK4ZE). You also need a section of 1 inch PVC pipe. I bought a section that I found at the store and cut it to size with a hacksaw, and sanded the ends.
You will need to print two of these.
