Kid’s Pencil Box
This is a sturdy kid’s pencil box/case I made for my small granddaughter to keep her colouring pencils together. It is designed to hold 12 pencils 170 mm x 9.5 mm diameter and consists of two printed parts and eight small (4 mm diameter x 2 mm thick) cylindrical magnets available on the internet.
The body part can be printed upright with 0.3 mm layer height and 20% infill. The lid can be printed with 0.2 mm layer height and 25% infill.
It may be necessary to clear the holes with a 4 mm drill to insert the magnets easily (tip: inserting them with a hot soldering iron will work too but it can also de-magnetise them…). Put some epoxy glue in the holes first and be careful to match the polarity of the magnets on the body and lid.
