This is a crutch for the 3D printed Pendulum clock. I was getting too much friction from the weight of the pendulum on the bearings. The crutch decouples the weight of the pendulum from the escapement. I drilled a couple of holes in the top standoff and just hung the pendulum with some fishing line. I filed a flat in the escapement arbor to fit the whole in the crutch. You need to join the top and bottom parts of the pendulum pieces with a dowel. I used a piece of a carbon fiber arrow.
The escapement wheel should be a tight fit on the arbor and be pushed into the crutch so that there is no movement between the two. Try to align the two parts as close to best beat position as possible. A 3mm diameter pin is pushed into the adjust piece which is an eccentric that can be used to fine tune the beat. The pin then rides in the slot in the top pendulum piece.
