This is a setup to demonstrate the factors that affect the periods of pendulums. Using the four pendulums you can show students the following truths:Period is not affected by the weight of the pendulumPeriod is not affected by the drop height of the pendulumPeriod is only affected by the length of the pendulumI printed the pendulum arms in PETG and the rest of the project in PLA. After printing two each of the heavy and light weights and short and long arms, insert the arms into the slots on the weights to create 4 unique pendulums (long heavy, short heavy, long light, short light). There is definitely room for improvement here. Because the arms are not massless, changing the weights at the end does slightly affect the center of mass of the system, thus slightly affecting the period. This could be solved by making both the light and heavy weights substantially heavier or by playing around with the infill in the light or heavy weights to shift the center of mass up or down. Have fun!
