Photo Base Plate

This is a small baseplate for use with those mini camera ball heads like this one. Very simple design. 100mm base, 20mm rise, recessed hole so the screw head isn't sticking out. Depth of the hole is sized so that a 1/4-20 screw 1/2" long will screw into the ball head just perfectly.

This plate comes in handy for a lot of other things as well. I use one for backlights in the field using a speedlight with pocket wizards. If you decide to do this you can either buy the really expensive mount with the pre-made connector, or you can buy one of these cheaper mounts, cut the end off and solder on your own 1/8" plug.

This plate also comes in handy for low-to-the-ground or tabletop gopro/point-and-shoot applications. A bit small for a DSLR but would probably work for short periods.

Easy print. Needs a little support for the recessed hole but it comes out clean.
