This is a tool for measuring piano "key dip" which is the distance between the top of the front rail felt punching and the bottom of the key, a.k.a. the distance that the key can travel or "dip" when it is pressed down.

The height for most pianos should be 3/8" (12/32") or .375" or 9.525mm. Home printers are not always accurate. Check the height of your print with a caliper. If the size is not correct, scale it in your slicer to adjust. I found that it prints accurately on my printer at 102%. Yours may be different. You can try printing just the head portion as a test.

You can make it any height that you want. Some pianos are set to 13/32" or 7/16" (14/32"). Less key dip is generally considered to be "lighter" in terms of how hard you press the key, and "faster" in terms of how quickly you can repeat notes because the key doesn't have to travel as far.
