Why I Designed the Picatinny Hammer BlockHave you ever struggled to remove a handguard from your rifle? I did—badly. I spent days applying heat, using vises, and pulling with everything I had. Nothing worked. Then it hit me: what if there was a simple block that could sit on the Picatinny rail and allow you to strike it with a hammer?Surely something like that already existed, right? But after searching online, I found nothing designed specifically for this purpose. So, I made one. This is my solution: the Picatinny Hammer Block. It fits securely over the top and sides of the rail, providing a solid surface to drive the handguard off the barrel nut. When I used it, two taps with a hammer were all it took.If you’re stuck like I was, I hope this tool saves you the frustration and effort. It’s a simple idea, but sometimes that’s all you need.I printed it in Polylite ASA. Other filament may work just as well but untested.
