This is the frame for a Picavet rig, a suspension system used in kite aerial photography (KAP) to keep a camera automatically level as the kite flies through the air as tilts and moves throughout its flight. The rig frame has eye hooks at each corner of the cross-shaped frame and uses a clever threading of lines to dampen the rotation and swinging of a camera which is attached to the bottom of the frame. The suspension system used a single, continuous, 30-foot length of braided Dacron line passed through four eye bolts (or pulleys) on the cross and two attachment points on the kite line.
