PID Control Box - Kiln/Foundry

Kiln/Furnace PID control box to control your electric furnace or kiln. Could also suit anything else that needs PID control. I used a XMT7100 PID controller and 25A SSR from ebay.

To mount the SSR i went to Jaycar and purchased a large heat sink (around $12), cut it to the width of the control box then drilled and taped holes for the SSR to screw to. I used 3M extreme double sided tape on the overlapping surfaces to fix the heat sink to the control box.

Be careful playing with mains electricity!
