This is a clamping jig for cutting conduit, rods, tubes and other cylindric things. Idea is to get a precise cut by sliding the foot of the jigsaw along the guide.
It's customizable (see attached drawing):
* *pipe_diam* diameter of the thing to be cut +tolerance. 26mm worked nicely for 25mm conduit. That's a pretty loose fit though. I also tried adding just half a millimeter: super tight, but hard to change work pieces.
* *angle* 90 degrees for a straight cut.
* *jig_width* is the distance from guide to the edge of the jig, should match distance from the edge of the jigsaw's foot to its blade -tolerance. I used a couple of millimeters of clearance: jig_width=32 for a distance of about 35.
* *jig_depth* determines how deep the blade of the saw can run. Better have some clearance or cut over the edge of the workbench, like in the picture.
* *jig_length* is the length of the ledger, which is used as guide. A long jig should allow for steadier cuts than short ones.
* *bolt
