This is a rolling sharpening sled for plane blades, chisels, anything with flat faces and a pointy end.
Print 2 copies of this part, one for each side. Orient with hex shaped insets facing up.
Requires the following hardware to assemble:
(2) #8-32 x 3" Screws
(2) #8 nuts
(2) 5/16-18 x 1" Bolts
(2) 5/16-18 Lock nuts
(2) Standard skateboard bearings (608)
Already having the bearings on hand, this cost $2.78 in hardware from Home Depot to assemble, and works like a champ. I'm using it with wet/dry sandpaper taped to a 12x12 piece of granite tile, but any truly flat surface will do.
Photos are shown with nuts to the inside, assemble in reverse for narrower blades, like chisels. Tolerances are tight, some slight drilling may be necessary on the screw head side for easier adjustments.
