Planetary Gear

A planetary gear system, also known as an epicyclic gear train, consists of a central sun gear, an outer ring gear, and multiple planet gears that revolve around the sun gear and mesh with both the sun and ring gears. These components are mounted on a movable carrier. This setup provides high torque density and allows for multiple gear ratios in a compact design. Planetary gears are widely used in applications requiring efficient power transmission and space-saving solutions, such as in automotive transmissions, robotics, and industrial machinery. The initial parts were made separately. Whereas, the ring, sun, and planet gears were made in the Solidworks Assembly and modified in Solidworks Parts Sector.
