I did some unnecessary plant pot drain stuff.It prevent clay balls from blocking the pot hole allowing perfect draining.It allows for 3 self-watering capillary wick cords to pass from saucer to the pot. water from saucer is not “wasted”. You could also decide to water your plant from the roots/saucer.Central foot is longer so it is lock in place in the central hole of the pot.Very unnecessary but i love it.Hope it helps!
