This plaster cutter is useful during renovations. You can temporarily seal off wall outlet boxes using plastic caps (often sold in packs of 20 at stores like Bauhaus) and apply plaster right over them. As the plaster dries, there’s typically a 12-hour window—depending on thickness—where the area over each cap remains slightly darker, making them easier to locate. Don't forget to mark them with a small X! Once the plaster is fully dry, use a screwdriver or similar tool to expose the center of the cap. Then place this tool over it and tap it a few times with a hammer* to cut out a clean 71 mm circle, perfectly matching the size needed to uncover the box. This makes it easy to install spacer rings (opvulringen) and mount wall outlets or switches. * be careful not to use too much force and chip anything outside the circle, take your time. Also don't use to little force because nothing will happen :)
