Removing a model from the build plate immediately after it is done printing can cause issues. On some plate surfaces you can leave some residue and the next model may not stick as well. Even worse, you may peel some of the surface from the plate – ask me how I know. It is best to let the model and plate to cool down before attempting to remove it. But most of us don’t like to wait so we wave it up and down or blow on it. So, to make cooling easier and speed up the cooling process I designed this plate cooler. It is simply a stand that has two USB powered fans that blow air onto the back of the plate. To do this, you remove the plate from your printer and slide it down on the slanted front of the cooler, pushing it into the slot at the bottom. In the slot is a microswitch that detects the plate and turns on the fans. When you remove the plate, the fans stop. Even though it is very quiet, it pushes enough air to cool the plate rather quickly. When I first tried it, I could hear the model
