Fermenting beverages from fruit tends to attract unwelcome visitors: Drosophila melanogaster. Also commonly known as "fruit fly". While popular in genetic research, they are less so with brewers.
When using tubes for filling liquids into bottles, possibly from post-fermentation vessels, the ends of those tubes remain attractive to those insects too. The common solution to plug them with a cork lacks in protecting the end of tube edges, and the insects can still squat there.
This device provides an indentation into which the tube end slides, denying access to fruit flies, while at the same time providing a convenient handle for easy removal and applying operation.
Pre-configured STL file has been dimensioned for tubes with an outer diameters of 14 mm, 1 mm wall strength.
As it is a device which come into contact with food processing containers, I suggest to use a food-safe type of PLA as material.
