Measuring about one meter in length, it was lightweight and built for speed, with long legs and a slender tail that aided in balance while running. Podokesaurus was likely a swift predator or insectivore, hunting small prey in a warm, riverine environment. Discovered in 1910 by Mignon Talbot, the first woman to describe a dinosaur, it represents an important early member of the coelophysoid group, offering insights into the evolution of early carnivorous dinosaurs.
