I spent Friday night in the dark attempting to read a book with a flashlight due to a power outage. This is the second time I have had to do this. I decided to design something to hold the flashlight for me.
I created a video of me designing the clamp portion: https://youtu.be/ZlloF07-5o8
I added the spacer because the clamp got a bit twisted when tightening. I suppose I could have altered the clamp to have an angled bottom instead, but I already had it printed.
I had to print the knob twice because I discovered that while the M8 bolt has a 13mm head, the M8 nut is 14mm.
The spacer needs a small amount of support to the bed. I had it set for a 60 degree limit. The ears did not need support.
The knob requires the spiral_extrude library here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1958354 for the extrude_spiral() function for the knurling (you will need to edit the 'use' line to tell OpenSCAD where you put it).
Edit: I have now used this twice since I made it during 36 hour po
