Replacement mesh filter cartridges for my pool vacuum were $60+ per 4 pack. They last about 2 years. I was tired of spending that for what amounts to a simple plastic frame with mesh material. This is the frame for a Maytronics Dolphin Premier mesh filter cartridge. My build area wasn't big enough so it is is 2 parts for the main filter and then 2 different styles of retainers to hold the mesh in.
I bought 3 yards of 160 silk screen mesh on Amazon for about $10. Enough for a lifetime of cartridges. I tried different options for holding the mesh in place. I've included a snap in retainer as well as a glue in. Or, you could just glue the mesh right to the frame. If you have one of these, you will figure out how to add the mesh fabric. I am going to try both the snap in retainer as well as the glue in to see how well they last through the season.
