This is Potatochip-E, a modular Chip-E based on Mr. Potatohead from Toy Story!
https://youtu.be/OkA6rwScdbA
We are two Creative Technology students from the Netherlands. And Chip-E would be an awesome way for us to study how humans react to robots and if it can influence their behaviour. We are however poor students so we thought we would enter this contest in the hope of winning.
When seeing the Chip-E contest, we thought of different designs to make. Eventually we had the idea of making a Mexican design with a large enough sombrero to hold some chips in, but we also wanted to make it modular so people could make their own designs to add to this framework. Eventually, we decided to make a modular design with our first example being the Mexican design.
We made the design modular by remixing the pins from Tbuser (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10541). The pins have two sides, one ‘normal’ side and one anchor side of which the corners are 90 degrees in order to lock the pins
